ARE WE FIGHTING THE RIGHT FIGHT?
Actually, all 3 branchs of government are failing to protect liberty. Lets be honest with ourselves and compare two approaches to saving our country:
1. Continuing relying on politicians and the courts to protect liberty (more of same) vs
2. Using our Article V Constitutional responsibility to help ourselves
Here is what we have been doing - The Wrong Fight
| Results | Article V Convention for Proposing Amendments
The Right Fight | Results |
Voting for unfaithful candidates and expecting different results.....
regardless of political party | Elected candidates continually to vote differently than campaign promises
WE ALREADY HAVE WON SO MANY ELECTIONS THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO GET AMERICA BACK ON TRACK | We the People control the agenda that representatives must work within:
1. How long they stay in office
2. How much they tax and spend
3. Keep government within Constitutional authority | Our strengthened Constitution dictates the peoples desire to all 3 branches of government. They again have to work for the people |
Trying to get the voice of the people heard in Congress | Control of congress is overwhelmingly dominated and controlled by large states with large cities. The 3 most populated states have more representation than the 31 least populated states. | One state gets one vote
Representation by state has much different results than by population
Our American Constitution was founded on the importance of balancing interests of large vs small states.
Article V means balance!
| South Dakota = California
North Dakota = New York
Wyoming = Pennsylvania
and so on......
See the difference?
|
Paying for lawsuits to fight irresponsible legislation, regulation, and spending | Court representation depends on having enough money to defend your position
Judges are people just like everyone else and are subject to political influence
Government has unlimited money and manpower to stifle citizens rights in legal challenges
| The Constitution dictates to the judiciary and the courts
We can clarify constitutional terms back to the original understanding and correct judicial interpretation that has allowed runawy government and unlimited spending
Our 11th amendment is an example where the Constitutional amendment barred the courts from a specific legal jurisdiction. We can do it again! | Courts are again subject to the Constitution as we saw during the first 150 years of American history
Judicial review should not rewrite the Constition by as few as 5 unelected jurists |
Expecting elections to be job performance evaluations of incumbents does not work.
Unfortunately, election spending relies on funding by super rich individuals and PACs often with a financial or philosophical interest in government policy
| Congressional approval rating is well below 20% over the past 60 years, yet.....
Incumbents are reelected at the rate of well over 90%
Politicians feel immunity from citizen dissatisfaction
HOW CAN THIS BE POSSIBLE?
Federal campaign spending:
2016 2020
$6.5 billion $14.4 billion | Term limits connect representatives to their communities. No more enless career politicians
Spending and taxation are limited to true priorities by Constitution
Government agency regulations are subject to review and approval | All three branches of government are again controlled by the Constitution with properly worded amendments
Washington no longer immune from wishes of the people and their Constitution
Temptation for buying elections and election tampering is enourmously stifled when government spending is limited
|
Expect government to work within the constitutional constraints | Innumerable examples of laws, regulations, and presidential executive orders far outside their authority. Courts offer no help
We can show exactly which court decisions created the legal precedent leading to unlimited areas of influence and endless $34 trillion national debt
These legal precedents CHANGED the Constitution by our judiciary and without ratification by the very states that created our nation
| Correctly worded amendments restore the intent of our original Constitution
Unconstitutional legal precedents are eliminated by the highest authority under God, Our Constitution
Our founding fathers knew we would need this Article V protection against an inevitable, out-of-control government that would never limit itself | Constitutional authority reestablishes the limited activity of legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government
We again become a nation of laws instead of a nation of men
Amendments to the Constitution are only possible with the approval of a super-majority of citizens according to Article V |
Expecting Congress to pass a fiscal budget instead of temporary Continuing Resolution (CR) regardless of political party in power
Congress finally passes omnibus spending bill far over and above tax income to avoid politically unpopular baggage
| Congress funds unintended programs instead of creating budget Continue trend of 138 Continuing Resolutions since 1988 (avg 5/year) Billions of wasted spending for unwanted purposes continues every year We spend 30-40% more than tax revenue. We print or borrow more money resulting in family-crushing inflation National security threatened by collapse of confidence in USA | Constitutional amendment would continue last year's budget plus (1% or an inflationary ) if budget is not signed by September 1. | Congress would finally have to choose tough decisions on how to spend our hard-earned taxes.
Individual congressional representatives would finally be responsible for their actions.
End of national debt in reasonable time frame.
Constitution again limit the purpose Congress can tax and spend |
